The Brief

With over 20 years of experience as a self taught wildlife photographer, I’ve spent countless hours immersed in the natural world. Waiting and watching to capture images that do more than just document.

My passion for wildlife began in childhood and has grown into a lifelong pursuit. In 2001, a trip to Kangaroo Island, Australia, marked a turning point for me. It sparked a desire to not only experience extraordinary wildlife, but to document it in a way that could be shared. Photography became the bridge between those moments and the stories they tell.

Wildlife photography is one of the most demanding disciplines which requires patience, deep field knowledge and an understanding of animal behaviour. So many hours are spent searching and observing. So many miles are walked in uneven terrain and in unforgiving conditions. There have been times where I’ve gone out more than ten times and come home with absolutely nothing to show for it. No photos. No sightings. Just wet, tired and hungry. It is only patience and that thrill of the chase that keeps me persistent and makes the rare moments of success all the more meaningful.

I have not included my entire portfolio here but instead selected a small collection of personal favourites. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoyed capturing them.

Images are primarily taken in Devon and Somerset.
